About Us
My name is Emma Hardcastle
Nestled in the heart of South East Victoria, in the charming country town of Woolsthorpe, “Quamby East” was more than just a property—it's a haven where childhood dreams and rural adventures came to life.
Growing up on the farm at “Quamby East” in Victoria, our backyard was a vibrant tapestry of nature's wonders. Horses, cows, and sheep grazed alongside the curious and hard-working kelpies and cattle dogs.
Amidst this, Jack Russell Terriers sparked an interest in my life through the endearing presence of David's (one of the main workers on our property) two named Molly and Rex, captivating me with their fearless spirit and boundless energy. It was as if they possessed the heart and soul of a much larger breed, wrapped up in a compact, tenacious package.

In early 2004, while living in the heart of Texas (South East QLD), fate led me to my first dog—a Bull Arab named Albie.
Albie quickly proved himself not only as a skilled hunting companion but also as a cherished member of our family, bringing joy and laughter into our home with his unwavering loyalty and affection.
Yet, it was Banjo, my inaugural Jack Russell Terrier, who truly ignited my passion for the breed. Though not pedigreed, Banjo's unstoppable charm and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark, leading me into the realms of showing and breeding.
Banjo had a long life with us here at Trublumate until his passing in 2022 at 17 years of age!
In 2006, I embarked on my journey into the world of dog showing, exhibiting a variety of terriers such as Jack Russell’s, Aussie Terriers, West Highland White Terriers, and a Scottish Terrier.
It was in 2008 that I welcomed my first purebred into the family, Keyshia, a delightful tan and white broken-coated Jack Russell Terrier who remains a beloved companion to this day, even in 2024, turning 16 this year!
This marked the beginning of my deepening passion for all things canine.
In 2009, fate brought Calypso, a charming blue merle Australian Shepherd, into my life as a 12-week-old puppy.
This encounter sparked a profound connection, and in 2013, I was fortunate enough to welcome Kye, Calypso's blue merle son, into our home. Eleven years later, Kye remains a cherished member of our family, king of our pack and standing as evidence of the enduring connections forged with these exceptional dogs.

Kye's arrival sparked an obsession similar to indulging in a box of chocolates. —I couldn't stop at just one. Soon, Flame and Minx joined our pack, each adding their own unique charm and personality. While briefly maintaining both breeds, the demands of family life and time constraints led me to decide to focus solely on Australian Shepherds for showing, sports, and breeding endeavors
At Trublumate, nestled on sprawling acreage in the picturesque countryside of South East Queensland, come embark on a journey where childhood wonders and the bond with our canine companions blend harmoniously, creating a sanctuary for dog enthusiasts and kindred spirits alike.
